Predictive Analytics is like teenage sex. At least that was the statement made by one presenter in the first edition of Predictive Analytics World London, in 2010. “Predictive Analytics is like teenage sex. Everybody’s talking about it, but nobody’s doing it”. Fortunately, the real-life success cases at PAW London proved the statement wrong. While the domain is indeed in full development, here’s a small selection of what we have seen in previous years at PAW London:
How Yahoo! uses predictive analytics in online marketing- How SABMiller (2nd largest brewing company in the world) uses segmentation and predictive analytics to help design its global marketing strategy
- How HP uses predictive analysis to better retain its own worldwide workforce
- How BBC uses text analytics to screen appropriateness of comments on its website
- How ENERGEX forecasts 20 years of electricity demand growth in Australia
- How Kaggle democratizes the domain by organizing worldwide predictive analytics competitions
- How uplift modeling is about to change the impact of analytics in business applications
- Panel discussions between thought leaders in the domain of predictive analytics
On November 27-28, Predictive Analytics World will organize its third event in London. The best way to get the most value out of attending the conference is by getting on stage. The call-for-speakers closes on June 29, and aims to attract stories on the following topics:
- Success stories: proven success by using Predictive Analytics
- Adoption stories: how a company adopted and embraced Predictive Analytics as a recurrent and sustainable business activity
- New applications: beyond traditional applications such as response modeling or credit scoring
- New analytical methods: introduction and proof-of-value of new techniques
PAW is a unique vendor-neutral business conference, bringing together experts, practitioners, managers in the domain. We are certainly welcoming contributions from the BAQMaR-community! Stories may be submitted online via: http://www.predictiveanalyticsworld.com/submit_uk.php
